Trek through dramatic landscapes, from lush rainforest to alpine desert, on one of Kilimanjaro’s most beautiful and rewarding climbing routes.
Trek the Machame Route, known as the “Whiskey Route”, offering spectacular scenery, forest paths, and excellent acclimatization for a safe summit.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to Moshi/Arusha, meet your guides and porters, and attend the trek briefing. Overnight in Moshi/Arusha.
Trek through lush rainforest, spotting birds and wildlife, before reaching Machame Camp for the first night on the mountain.
Continue through the forest to the heath and moorland zone. Arrive at Shira Camp with panoramic views of Kibo and surrounding mountains.
Trek across the Shira Plateau, ascend Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend into Barranco Valley for overnight at Barranco Camp.
Climb the famous Barranco Wall and traverse to Karanga Camp. Rest and prepare for the summit push.
Trek from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp at 4,600m, resting in preparation for the midnight summit attempt.
Begin the midnight climb to Uhuru Peak. After celebrating your summit, descend via Mweka Hut to Mweka Gate, then transfer back to Moshi.
