7 DAYS LEMOSHO ROUTE

A Shorter Scenic Adventure with Excellent Summit Success

Discover dramatic landscapes, remote wilderness trails, and a well-paced ascent on one of Kilimanjaro’s most breathtaking routes.

7 Days Lemosho Route – Mount Kilimanjaro

Trek the scenic and remote Lemosho Route on Mount Kilimanjaro, offering panoramic views, lush forests, and excellent acclimatization for a safe summit.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival & Londorossi Gate

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Moshi/Arusha. Meet your guides and porters, attend the trek briefing, and overnight in Moshi/Arusha.

Day 2
Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp) to Shira 2 Camp

Leave the rainforest behind and ascend into the heath and moorland zone. Enjoy beautiful views as you cross the Shira Plateau before arriving at Shira 2 Camp for overnight.

Day 3
Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp (via Lava Tower)

Trek toward Lava Tower for important acclimatization at high altitude before descending into the scenic Barranco Valley. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy improves summit success. Overnight at Barranco Camp.

Day 4
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Climb the famous Barranco Wall and enjoy spectacular views across the Karanga Valley. A shorter trekking day allows for rest and continued acclimatization at Karanga Camp.

Day 5
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Ascend through alpine desert terrain to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit attempt. After an early dinner and briefing, rest and prepare for the midnight climb to the summit.

Day 6
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak – Descend to Mweka Hut

Begin the midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend via Stella Point back to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Hut for overnight.

Day 7
Mweka Hut to Mweka Gate

Descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate where you receive your summit certificate. Transfer back to Moshi/Arusha for a well-deserved rest or onward travel.
